Using your own ISRC root/prefix to generate your ISRCs
Written By Luciano Esposito
nodable supports the use of your own ISRC prefix, allowing you to generate custom ISRCs when distributing through the nodable dashboard. To activate this feature, please email support with the following details:
Your ISRC prefix
The first ISRC you’d like to generate in our system
Whether you have a final ISRC limit
Important Notice
Using nodable’s system to generate ISRCs means that you delegate the responsibility of ensuring ISRC uniqueness to our system. Once you provide your starting ISRC, our system will automatically assign it the next time you distribute a track requiring an ISRC. From there, ISRC numbers will increment sequentially by +1 for each new track.
To avoid duplicate ISRC issues, please follow these guidelines:
Do not assign ISRCs outside of nodable’s system. If you need to use an ISRC externally, contact support to request the number of ISRCs required so we can allocate and block them in our system.
If you plan to use ISRCs outside of nodable, reserve them in advance. Decide how many ISRCs you need externally and instruct us to begin from a later number, allowing you to use all ISRCs before your starting point without needing additional notifications.
Monitor your ISRC limit. If you have a defined end ISRC, it is your responsibility to track usage and acquire additional ISRCs from your ISRC agency before reaching your limit.
