AI-Generated Music Compliance Policy Update
Written By nodable
At Nodable, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency, legal compliance, and ethical innovation in music distribution. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into music creation workflows, industry regulations and DSP requirements have evolved significantly.
To align with these changes, all AI-generated content distributed through Nodable is now subject to stricter compliance controls and verification procedures.
These measures ensure that artists, rightsholders, and collaborators are fully protected, while preserving the integrity of the global music ecosystem.
🎯 Policy Overview
Any music created, fully or partially, using artificial intelligence must comply with both:
Applicable copyright and licensing laws
DSP distribution and metadata requirements
Within the Nodable ecosystem, only AI tools that demonstrate transparent, licensed, or fair-use training practices are permitted.
This includes models trained exclusively on licensed datasets, public domain material, or clearly disclosed and compliant data sources.
📌 Mandatory Compliance Requirements
1. AI Usage Disclosure
All tracks containing any level of AI-generated content must include
This declaration in the track properties:
“Includes AI”
This declaration must be added in the track properties at the time of submission. It ensures full transparency across all distribution channels and partners.
2. Metadata Transparency
Every AI tool used in the creation process must be clearly documented within the track metadata.
This includes, where applicable:
Composer attribution
Lyricist attribution
Production or contribution credits
All AI services involved in generating, assisting, or modifying the track must be explicitly listed. Partial disclosure is not permitted.
✅ Approved AI Music Services
The following AI platforms are currently approved for use within the Nodable ecosystem, based on their licensing transparency and training data compliance:
🎵 FairlyTrained.org Certified Models
Beatoven.ai – Uses licensed training data and provides royalty-free outputs

Boomy.com – Fairly trained system with integrated publishing and royalty options
Including tools such as Tuney, Jen, Vocalist.ai, and other certified AI systems trained on licensed or public-domain datasets

❌ Prohibited AI Music Services
The following platforms are currently not permitted due to insufficient transparency regarding training data or unresolved copyright considerations:
Suno – Lack of disclosed training data and ongoing copyright concerns
Udio – Limited transparency regarding dataset sources and licensing
Mureka – No publicly available information on training data or rights clearance
Content created using these services is not eligible for distribution through Nodable.
⚠️ Enforcement Policy
Any submission that does not comply with these requirements will be:
Automatically rejected during the review process, or
Removed from distribution without prior notice
These measures are essential to ensure compliance with DSP regulations and protect all stakeholders within the ecosystem.
🛡️ Why This Matters
The music industry is entering a new era where AI plays a central creative role. However, this evolution must be built on transparency, fairness, and respect for intellectual property.
Through these policies, Nodable ensures that innovation does not come at the expense of artists’ rights.
Our objectives are to:
Safeguard creators and copyright holders
Guarantee DSP compliance for all distributed content
Promote responsible and transparent AI usage
Build a sustainable and equitable music economy
